| Race for the Cure |
On Saturday January
31, 2009 over 21,800 people in South Florida awoke in the pre-dawn
darkness, dressed in multiple layers to ward off the 44 degree early
morning chill and made their way to downtown West Palm Beach. They
came together to participate in the Susan G. Komen "Race for the Cure"
united with a common cause and with hope that one day a cure would be
found for this dreaded disease. The day was perfectly clear with a
stiff north breeze which seemed to raise everyone's spirits. It was an
uplifting experience but also very humbling to know that cancer had
touched each of the thousands of people that participated in one way or
another. As we walked we shared our thoughts on how cancer has
affected our lives and the lives of those we love.
The
closing ceremonies were marked by over 2,000 survivors of breast cancer
invited up to the stage while two time Grammy Award winner Sylvia
McNair, who is herself a breast cancer survivor, sang clearly and
unwavering "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "It's a Wonderful World" and I
know her performance brought tears to many in the crowd. This
remarkable event raised approximately 1.4 million dollars and I was
honored to walk with our Keyes team and Lori Page in honor of her
sister Lisa who courageously continues the fight. Thank you to each and
every one of you who supported this noble cause.

| Our Chairman's Recovery |
Greetings,
Our Chairman is home recovering - Praise the Lord!
We are happy to report that our dad and Chairman is home recovering from an illness that kept him hospitalized for several weeks. He had an infection that was difficult to determine, but the doctors were able to find the cause.
He is reading the good news about our increasing sales - and that puts a big smile on his face. We are sure he would love hearing from you. His home address is 2516 DeSoto Blvd, Coral Gables, Florida 33134.

| How Many Plates Are You Spinning?? |
Weren't the plate twirlers at the circus fun to watch? The entertainer would put a plate on a stick and spin it - then proceed to put up two, three . . 7 or 8 others! As he added the plates - he would run back and spin the first ones . . to keep them all going. . and not allow any to crash to the floor.
In the old days, before technology, mobile phones, and when tax information was in large black books - one could only 'juggle' so many leads/customers with our 3 x 5 cards.
Today information is virtual, communication is instant and programs can manage 1000's of leads.
Are you utilizing the tools to build a more productive business? Do your systems remind and help you communicate real value to your clients?
As our world has dramatically changed - the fundamentals remain the same. Real estate is still a numbers game. The number of contacts/leads and face to face appointments will predict your number of listings. The number of listings will drive your sales and closings! More appointments = more listings. More listings = more sales!
It all starts with managing our leads (Realtor.com, signs calls, HOTLINE/VoicePad, open houses, zillow.com, condo.com, realestate.com, ad calls, trulia). Do you have a contact management system? ACT, Top Producer, leadtrax. Keyes will be rolling out a company wide lead management system in the fall.
Are you capturing ALL of your leads and managing them systematically?
Do all of your signs have the hotline number prominently displayed?
The plates didn't spin automatically - it took the human touch. That's the perfect combination - utilizing technology with a personal touch!
Wishing you LOTS of spinning plates. . And its okay if a few fall and break - as long as you have a lot more spinning!

Keyes Homestead Outhouse Race Champs
|
|
The Keyes Company/Realtors Homestead Office was the winners of the 15th annual Homestead Florida City Chamber of Commerce Outhouse Race for the 3rd year in a row. The runners were Juan Angulo and Joe Pelaez with help from Tara Wetzel and the paper pusher.
In most places an Outhouse an outdoor toilet consisting of a small building that encloses a seat with a hole in it built over a pit. In Homestead we put wheels on them and race them at the local Prime Outlet Mall. More |
